Visiting Virtuosos is a nonprofit dedicated to inspiring and educating the next generation through the transformative power of classical music.

We create opportunities for children to experience music beyond the concert hall - - to hear extraordinary musicians perform, meet the artists behind the music, participate in workshops and lessons, and discover the excitement of making music themselves.

Through live performances, education, and community engagement, we bring accomplished musicians and young people together in ways that make classical music personal, accessible, and inspiring.

We believe every child deserves the opportunity to discover the beauty, creativity, discipline, and possibility that music can bring.

Sometimes, one extraordinary musical experience is all it takes to spark a curiosity that lasts a lifetime.

For Founder and Artistic Director Mickelle Daniels, the inspiration for Visiting Virtuosos began with access to extraordinary teachers and world-class musicians (from classical to country) who opened her world to music as a child.

Growing up in Indiana by way of Kentucky, Mickelle had remarkable teachers who generously shared their time, talents, and love of music.  She later built a career in New York City, where exposure to extraordinary artists reinforced a lifelong belief: giving a child access to great music, and to those who bring it to life, can open a world of possibility. 

Visiting Virtuosos was created to give more children that opportunity - - to listen, learn, participate, build confidence, and perhaps discover a passion that lasts a lifetime.
